NYC Radio: WABC's Curtis Sliwa Makes First Pitch

This past Friday evening under overcast skies, Curtis Sliwa, host of 77 WABC New York's “Curtis & Eboni” (Noon to 3:00pm weekdays) threw out the first pitch at the Brooklyn Coney Island Cyclones game.

Curtis feels that he "did better than 50 Cent a.k.a. Curtis Jackson did at a Mets game at Citi Field a few years ago, but not as good as Bush 43 did at the Old Yankee Stadium right after the attack on 9/11".

Curtis’ pitch was a one-bounce throw to the Brooklyn Cyclones' catcher, who was able to go wide of the plate and scoop it out of the dirt. Even though it had rained most of the day, the fan turnout was phenomenal.

The stadium has captured a throwback old school look with the rides of Coney Island and the ocean as a picturesque backdrop. Curtis enjoyed a "dirty water" hot dog along with the game and remarked that it was great to be back in the borough of his youth, Brooklyn.

Sliwa said: "It was a great old-fashioned family fun night that the Cyclones put on - Affordable, and for those like me who were born and raised in Brooklyn, it provided a nostalgic return to Coney Island. It was a five-star, top-shelf performance by the management, personnel and also the fans of the Brooklyn Cyclones."
