Having just returned from their 9th consecutive Consumer Electronics Show, Jacobs Media announced today the release of the first episode of a podcast series designed to bring the flavor and excitement of the show to the radio industry.
“CES for Radio Broadcasters” is a multi-part series of podcasts featuring interviews ranging from executives to start-up entrepreneurs who showcase their companies and their brands at the largest technology show in the world. Hosted by Jacobs Media Digital Dot Connector Seth Resler, the series takes listeners inside the convention and provides a unique audio perspective on this iconic event.
“Trying to capture the scale and excitement that takes over Las Vegas during CES is a daunting task,” Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs observes. “Seth has put together a compelling series that provides a taste of CES, with a perspective on what is most important to the radio business. The series is also part of our commitment to the podcasting space.”
The first episode features Jim Barry, media spokesperson for the Consumer Technology Association. Jim is known as the “Digital Answer Man,” attending CES since 1979. He’s got the perfect 35,000 foot view of CES, and spends his time during the convention conducting interviews with radio stations across the United States.
“This was my first year at CES,” states Resler. “Fred and Paul warned me, but I was unprepared for how big it is. But once I figured it out, I was able to discover the stories most relevant to radio, including stories about start-ups and companies that broadcasters might not have heard of yet, but could impact the industry in the years ahead.”
Upcoming episodes will cover topics that include car sharing, virtual reality, data collection at live events, podcasting curation, 3D sound, and cord-cutters.
