Mick Anselmo 2005 |
Anselmo who oversees the three-station cluster, which includes Country KMNB 102.9 FM, Adult Hits KZJK 104.1 FM / JackFM and News/Talk WCCO 830 AM.
Anselmo stated, “I’m looking forward to what retirement brings, and feel fortunate to have run some of America’s greatest radio stations. I’ll miss my Nashville friends and the music, but the band plays on.”
After a successful start at KAAL-TV in Austin, Minnesota, he came to Minneapolis in 1984 as an Account Executive at KEEY-FM/KLBB-AM, and by 1993 he had been promoted to Regional Vice-President of their owner entity overseeing Los Angeles and San Francisco from Minneapolis. One of his many achievements to-date was the launching of KFAN-AM, making it one of the top stations in the market. As General Manager and then Vice-President of Shamrock Broadcasting, Mick turned KEEY-FM into a country music powerhouse, and in 2005 it was named the Country Music Association’s “Major Market Radio Station of the Year.”
Ansellmo joined CBS Radio/Minneapolis in 2008 following 25 years with crosstown Clear Channe, which is now iHeartMedia, where he launched Country KEEY. Then in 2011, Ansellmo oversaw the flip of AC WLTE to KMNB by personally pushing the button which launched BUZ’N as a Country outlet.
He was inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2013.
As of this time, CBS Radio has not named a successor.
