Austin Radio: Kristen Kurtis Departing KGSR

Austin radio host Kristen Kurtis is heading home.

Kurtis, who spent about four years as KGSR 93.3 FM midday host, has been tapped to host mornings on legendary Philadelphia radio station WXPN 88.5 FM. In addition to her on-air duties at KGSR, Kurtis also served as assistant program director and music director.

She’s previously worked for stations in Boston and Spokane, Wash.

“As one who was raised on Philadelphia radio, returning to the area via 88.5 brings my life and career full circle,” Kurtis said. “I am ecstatic, proud and honored to be joining the prestigious staff at WXPN.”

Kurtis’ new gig is set to start next month, according to austin360.com.
