The oldies station, which had a 10.2 share in the previous period, has now been No. 1 in the market for the past four months.
In the August ratings period — for Nielsen, that was July 16 through Aug. 12 — WISN 1130 AM and Country WMIL 106.1 FM tied for second with a 6.7 share each. News-talk WISN, which had a 5.6 share in the July ratings period, had the biggest month-to-month jump of any Milwaukee station.
In fourth place on the monthly scorecard, AC WMYX 99.1 FM (99.1) had a 6.6 share in August, up from a 5.8, while N/T WTMJ 620 AM and Rock WHQG 102.9 FM tied for fifth place with a 6.4 share. WTMJ had been in second place in July, with a 7.1 share; WHQG went in an opposite direction, jumping from eighth place and a 5.1 share last month.
