The audo can be heard via Over-The-Air Channel 6 and on 87.7 FM on receivers that can tune down that far.
As announced earlier this month the station format will be mostly soft-rock-oldies from the 60s and 70s. According to Chicagoland Radio& Media, the first two songs were local favorites "Lake Shore Drive" by Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah, followed by "Take Me Back To Chicago" by Chicago.
Branded as "87.7 MeTV FM," the station plays "Me Music" -- a type of oldies format that focuses on easy listening pop/rock tracks from the 1960s, 1970s, and some tracks from the 1980s.
Although the station is in the process of hiring a Director of Imaging and Production, there's no word on deejays.
CR&M reports market veteran Mark Zander is currently working for Weigel Broadcasting on a contract basis, helping to oversee its programming. Zander most recently was the Program Director of both WERV-FM/95.9 The River and WRXQ-FM/Q Rock 100.7, as well as afternoon drive and weekend host on WERV-FM until his exit in July of last year.

Weigel describes 87.7 MeTV FM as a unique blend of memorable, timeless and classic pop music that the boomer generation listened to from the 1960s through 1980s. “87.7 MeTV FM will differ from the current “classic hits” format by playing a much broader range of music skewing on the pop/softer side including singer/songwriters, album tracks and hits deemed “oldies” by some programmers but considered gold by our target audience”, according Neal Sabin, the architect of the MeTV FM format.
“This is “Me Music”- memorable, easy music for everyone.”
MeTV FM 87.7 Core artists include Carly Simon, James Taylor, The Eagles, Elton John, The Carpenters, Motown superstars, America, Neil Diamond and hundreds more.
