Phil Daniel, known on the radio as “Philly Phil,” has been named the new host of the highly rated WKJM 99.3 / WKJS 105.7 fm KISS-FM nighttime radio'S “The Quiet Storm.”
April 28 will be Daniel’s first day on the 7 p.m. to midnight program on Radio One’s KISS 99.3/105.7 FM.
Daniel will replace James David Mitchell, known on air as “Mitch Malone,” who died suddenly of natural causes in November at age 57.

Radio One made the announcement Wednesday in a statement noting that Daniel has been a radio personality for more than 30 years, including on the Richmond radio stations Magic 99 and Power 92.

Daniel, who is married and has children, was more recently the program director for Hoffman Communications and Chesapeake Broadcasting.
