Austin radio personalities Bob Cole and Jason Nassour, who are also the owners of KOKE 93.3 FM, have another new station in the works, according to the Austin Business Journal.
Details are few at this point but the new station will be known as Fringe Austin and is expected to launch in the coming weeks on a to-be-announced frequency.
The biggest possible news, however, is that the station could conceivably be the long-rumored new home of popular Austin morning radio hosts J.B. Hager and Sandy McIlree, who ended their morning show on Mix 94.7 FM last year after the station opted to not renew Hager’s contract.
Following the pair’s departure from 94.7 the pair teased the possibility of anchoring a new radio station as one of their next career moves.
Ray Seggern, the program manager for the station and a partner with Austin-based ad agency Wizard of Ads, wouldn’t discuss the personnel or launch date but said the station would have a "strong morning show" and details would be forthcoming.
