Jim Farley |
WTOP during Farley’s programming watch transitioned from an
regional AM-FM simulcast to a top-rated and top billing FM station. Its news department has won just about every
imaginable news award, including nine Edward Murrow Awards during the last two
year.
Farley came to WTOP in 1996 after eight years with ABC News
in New York as Managing Editor at the ABC Radio Networks.
Prior to that, he spent thirteen years with NBC News (radio
and television). He was also the last
NBC News Vice President of Radio News before NBC sold the NBC Radio Networks in
1987. He started my career at all-news
WINS in New York City in 1966, as a "copy boy."
Farley had taught graduate and undergraduate Journalism
courses at NYU and Fordham.
Farley says that he’ll be a consultant for WTOP and its
owner, Hubbard Broadcasting.
