According to Lars at CR&M.com, no on-air changes to the
station's schedule or personnel comes with this branding change.
The change in branding matches that with a handful of other
Salem Communications-owned talk stations, including ones in New York, Los
Angeles, Dallas, San Bernardino, and Columbus. New York's WNYM-AM was the first
to become "The Answer" on March 12th last year, followed soon after
by the LA and San Bernadino stations.
Along with the new branding comes a new logo, a new web
address (operational soon) in 560TheAnswer.com (although 560WIND.com will still
work), and a new imaging voice, as Lonnie Perkins takes over voicing the on-air
promos. Perkins is an in-house voice-over talent for Salem Communications,
based out of Indianapolis. He previously has done imaging work for dozens of
radio stations and organizations nationwide, including WGN-AM and the Chicago
White Sox.
I don't like it. Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Bart spikes Mrs. Krabappel's coffee, thus getting her fired from teaching. She later opens up a muffin shop as a result reading/seeing a book called "The Answer".
ReplyDeleteI don't like the new schedule, I really enjoyed driving to work and listening the Top 5 at 5and the topic of day with John Howell and Amy Jacobsen; also enjoyed catching Michael Medved on my drive home after a long 10 hour day at work.
