WABC Radio is proud to partner with Shriners Children’s™️ for Day of Champions, Sunday, July 20, at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) Community Park. The fun-filled day celebrates first responders with a softball game that focuses on the strengths of the NYPD and resilience of the FDNY with net proceeds giving hope and healing to the patients of Shriners Children’s, who encompass these values every day.
“Shriners Children’s gives hope to children and their families across the country and around the world, regardless of their ability to pay,” said John Catsimatidis, owner of Red Apple Media, WABC Radio, and the FerryHawks. “At WABC Radio, we are proud to partner with Shriners Children’s and, together, provide a fun-filled day for our community while supporting this great mission.”
Yankees legend John Sterling, who hosts a Saturday afternoon sports talk program on 77WABC, will provide play-by-play of the big game, as well as the Little League Pre-Game.
This Day of Champions will include pre-game activities for the whole family including Meet and Greet opportunities with 77WABC on-air personalities and sports legend Dwight Gooden, Fastest Pitch and Home Run Derby contests, Kids Zone, Sports Memorabilia Silent Auction and more! The first 500 guests will receive a limited-edition baseball cap and kids attending the event will receive a Shriners Children’s superhero cape.
