BMLG Partners With Joel Klaiman To Launch Ascend Music

Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) and Joel Klaiman have joined forces to launch Ascend Music, a new imprint focused on promoting cross-genre talent. 

The label’s first signing will be revealed later this week.

BMLG Founder, Chairman, and CEO Scott Borchetta previously collaborated with Klaiman in 2008 on Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” while Klaiman was EVP of Promotion & Artist Development at Republic Records, contributing to Swift’s albums Fearless, Speak Now, and Red.Borchetta praised Klaiman’s relentless energy and artist-focused approach, saying, “Joel’s vision is infectious, and he leaves no stone unturned. We’re excited to bring game-changing music to the world together.”

Klaiman added, “Working with Scott and BMLG again is a dream. His artist-first, entrepreneurial spirit aligns perfectly with Ascend Music’s mission to grow our artists and expand our global reach, creating exciting opportunities for everyone involved.”

In 2008, Scott Borchetta and Joel Klaiman collaborated to promote Taylor Swift’s groundbreaking hit “Love Story,” the first song to top both Country and Pop radio charts, achieving historic airplay and sales milestones in the U.S. and globally. As EVP of Promotion & Artist Development at Republic Records, Klaiman played a key role alongside Borchetta and Big Machine in driving the success of Swift’s iconic albums Fearless, Speak Now, and Red.
