FOX Nation has signed its first deal in the live sports arena, becoming the exclusive Friday night broadcast partner for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series, announced FOX Nation president Lauren Petterson. Beginning on Friday, August 8, the “PBR Friday Night Live” series will begin in Sunrise, FL and will continue weekly through the fall with 10 Friday Night Teams broadcasts across the country culminating with league’s championship opener on October 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In the lead up to the live weekly team events, the platform will roll out season two of the hit series “Last Cowboy Standing” beginning on Friday, July 11. With 10 all-new weekly episodes, eight amateur bull riders attempt to make history as they compete in a series of rides and one-of-a-kind challenges for a fast pass to their dreams, entrance into the individual bull riding competition, Unleash the Beast, and the opportunity to join a PBR team. Viewers will have behind the scenes access inside their journey as riders attempt to avoid elimination until there is one final winner.
In making the announcement, Petterson said, “We could not ask for a better partner to kick off our first foray into live sports. PBR is an incredibly unique sport with an unrivaled, passionate fan base, and it’s a great addition to the entire FOX Nation viewer experience.”
PBR CEO and Commissioner Sean Gleason added, “We’re thrilled to build on our strong partnership with FOX Nation to deliver live coverage of Friday Night Teams and the second season of Last Cowboy Standing. Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo was a breakout hit in May for FOX Nation, proving that their devoted audience is eager for exciting Western sports content. The FOX platform is a perfect stage to showcase our athletes’ stories of grit, courage, and determination.”
On May 16, FOX Nation exclusively streamed Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo, a modernized team-based rodeo infused with a full concert from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
PBR is the world’s premier bull riding organization with more than 1,000 bull riders competing in over 200 events annually. The mix of athleticism, raw sport and entertainment has propelled growth for the sport’s live attendance, fan base and roster of brand partners. PBR welcomed 1.43 million fans to its events in 2024 and its broadcasts reach more than 288 million households in 67 countries and territories.
“Last Cowboy Standing” is produced by Film 45, part of Pantheon Media Group.
The PBR Camping World Team Series is an elite league featuring the world’s top bull riders competing on teams in five-on-five bull riding games during a 13-event season. The teams competing include: Austin Gamblers of Austin, TX; Arizona Ridge Riders of Glendale, AZ; Carolina Cowboys of Greensboro, NC; Florida Freedom of Sunrise, FL; Kansas City Outlaws of Kansas City, MO; Nashville Stampede of Nashville, TN; Oklahoma Wildcatters of Oklahoma City, OK; Missouri Thunder of Springfield, MO; New York Mavericks of Elmont, NY, and Texas Rattlers of Fort Worth, TX. Each hosts a three-day homestand, and there are neutral-site games in Anaheim, CA and Duluth, GA.
PBR Teams, launched in July 2022, builds on the existing structure of professional bull riding with the same basic rules for judging and scoring qualified 8-second bull rides. Events are staged in head-to-head matchups in a tournament-style format. In five-on-five games, the team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders is declared the winner.
