Who's On CNN's Talent Chopping Block?

Big-bucks talent at CNN is reportedly on the chopping block as the network’s new CEO, Mark Thompson, aims to slash budgets and address declining ratings.

Among those potentially affected are Anderson Cooper, Chris Wallace, Wolf Blitzer, and Jake Tapper.

Cooper, who earns a substantial $20 million annually, is aware of his precarious position and has allegedly started exploring other opportunities. Wallace, with an $8 million salary, also considers himself a likely target. Blitzer and Tapper, both high earners, are bracing for potential cuts as well.

While contracts for most of these anchors extend beyond the November election, insiders suggest that no one is entirely safe.

Sources say Thompson has no use for the star system and the hefty salaries that come with it. He’s reportedly seeking to replace marquee names with talent who built their audiences on social media — including former FOX and NBC anchor Megyn Kelly, who has 1.72 million subscribers on YouTube.
