R.I.P.: Anthony 'Domino' Lini, Longtime Personality At WOCL Orlando

Domino (1963-2024)

Audacy Communications has confirmed the passing of Anthony ‘Domino’ Lini, who spent more than four decades on the air at stations across the U.S., most recently as afternoon drive host on itd classic hits 105.9 Sunny FM WOCL Orlando.  He died Monday at the age of 61, according to InsideRadio.

Lini, who was also Sunny's Assistant Program Director, was on air there since February 2010. Prior to arriving in Orlando, he built an impressive resume, including stops at major CHR stations such as iHeartMedia's 106.1 Kiss-FM KHKS Dallas and 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles – where he was known for his nightly “Desperate and Dateless” segment – New York's WPLJ during both its “Power 95” and “Mojo Radio” eras, and “Power 99” WAPW Atlanta.

“We are still in shock, saddened to our core with the tragic passing of our dear friend Domino yesterday,” a post on Sunny's Facebook page says. “The world lost a legend yesterday – a sweet, funny, bigger than life man, and heaven is a lot louder and a lot brighter today. No professional in any field was more dedicated to what he did than him. It wasn’t a job for Domino, it was his life.”

Lini's radio career kicked off in April 1989 at Air 95.5 in New York, right after his graduation from the University of Colorado Boulder. His passion and talent for radio broadcasting quickly became evident, leading him through a series of prominent positions.

After leaving New York in May 1993, Lini worked for Gannett Broadcasting, then joined iHeartMedia's Texas station KHKS 106.1 from 1996 to 2003.

His journey did not stop there; Lini moved to Univision Communications' 99.1 KFZO, where he spent four years before finally landing at WOCL in Orlando, Florida, in February 2010. This move marked the beginning of what would be his last and memorable chapter in radio broadcasting.

An amazing man, father, friend, has touched so many peoples lives. We all have our "Domino" stories to tell. Zoe, my heart goes out to you, and may God continue to comfort you and your friends and family. My radio station will never be the same.

  3. Domino was my afternoon joy, his laughter and stories were so funny. There was nothing more in the world that he loved more than his daughter Zoe. Sunny FM will never be the same again. Orlando lost a big personality with a lot of love to give, we all grieve together this week. May god bless his family and friends.
