WEEI 93.7 FM's Kirk Minihane announced Thursday evening that he’s taking an “indefinite leave” from co-hosting the “Kirk & Callahan” morning show.
“Still battling mental health issues,” the radio host said on Twitter. “Truth is I came back to work too fast.”
I’m going on an indefinite leave from the show. Still battling mental health issues. Truth is I came back to work too fast. Wish I could be there with @GerryCallahan, @_ChrisCurtis and @KenLairdWEEI - I love those guys very much. I’ll be OK and sorry I’m leaving you all with Mut.— Kirk Minihane (@kirkmin) September 6, 2018
Minihane was off the air for about a week in early August to undergo treatment for depression. When he returned to work, he shared in great detail what had led him to check in to the Winchester Hospital emergency room with suicidal thoughts.
Minihane was on the radio Thursday morning.
