More Artists Added To Dolly's Benefit Telethon

The list of celebrities and musicians joining Dolly Parton's telethon is growing by the day.

Hank Williams Jr., Cyndi Lauper, Alabama, Don McLean, Ronnie Dunn, Jamey Johnson and Lauren Alaina have been added to the lineup for Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefits for the My People Fund, which will air on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. on GAC, AXS TV, RFD, The Heartland Network, USAToday.com, Tennessean.com, Knoxnews.com, dnj.com and other USAToday National Networks.

The telethon will benefit those affected by the wildfire that swept through Sevier County late in the evening on Nov. 29. 14 people died and more than 2,400 structures were damaged or destroyed.

According to The Tennessean, Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Alison Krauss, and Big & Rich are a few of the other artists that have been announced for the telethon.

In addition to the performers, Paula Deen and her sons, RaeLynn, Daily and Vincent, Moonshiners' Mark & Digger, T.G. Sheppard, Jason Crabb, Larry Gatlin, comedian Henry Cho, Tim Rushlow and more will be answering the phones.

“Every day I’m touched even more by the number of people who are joining us to help raise money for the people of the Smoky Mountains,” Parton said in a statement. “It is a special place and I’m honored that these people care so much about what we’re doing through the My People Fund to help those who have lost everything due to the wildfires.”

The My People Fund will provide $1,000 each month to Sevier County families whose homes were completely destroyed or are uninhabitable from the fires. Any renter or homeowner who lost their primary residence is eligible.

During the telethon, viewers can call 1-866-CARE MORE to donate.
