Broadcast radio advertising revenues in Washington, DC reached $325.7 million in 2015, according to BIA/Kelsey’s new Local Competition Report on the Washington, DC market.
This $325.7 million revenue estimate, which only includes over-the-air revenue, is broken down by owner. Hubbard Radio’s stations, including WTOP, were responsible for nearly a quarter of the radio revenue in the market — 24.6%. iHeartMedia’s stations trailed in second place with 19.7%. CBS Radio was the third highest billing radio owner in the market, with 16.4%.
This year’s list of top 10 highest revenue radio stations in the U.S. for 2015 hasn’t been released yet, but BIA Kelsey estimates that Hubbard’s WTOP is once again somewhere in the Top 10 despite Washington, DC being the 7th ranked market nationwide.
