Albany Broadcasting has been simulcasting Country formatted The Cat on both 104.9 FM and 100.9 FM since early October, broke the simulcast to launch a new station at WZMR 104.9 FM, according to
bizjournals.com.
The new station is an eclectic format known as Adult Album Alternative (AAA) and features "world class rock" spanning four decades of music including artists such as Dave Matthews Band, The Beatles, Fitz & The Tantrums, and other similar artists.
On-air the station is branded as The Peak, and is similar to a station the company operates in Poughkeepsie.
Until October, 104.9 was the home of The Cat, which moved to WKLI 100.9, displacing a rock format on that frequency.
The Peak is currently jockless.
In addition to WZMR 104.9 The Peak, Latham based Albany Broadcasting owns 100.9 The Cat WKLI, Fly 92.3 WFLY, Jamz 96.3 WAJZ, WYJB B95.5 and WROW – Magic 590AM.
