Fox News Host Calls CBS’s Scott Pelley a “Snob”

Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham sharply criticized veteran CBS News anchor Scott Pelley on Monday, labeling him a “snob” based on their brief professional overlap at CBS News in the late 1980s.

Ingraham, speaking on her show Monday evening, revealed she worked as a commentator at CBS News during that period and crossed paths with Pelley while he served as a White House correspondent.

“I myself had a short stint at CBS News as a commentator in the late 80s and overlapped with Pelley when he was White House correspondent,” she said. “Just a few comments in the hallway, nothing big.”

She added: “He may not remember me, I was just a little peon. But I remember him. He was simply put a snob. The aura he put out was that he was above the rest of us.”

Ingraham went on to express surprise at Pelley’s demeanor given his background, noting he was born in San Antonio, Texas.

“Not what I expected from a man born in San Antonio because Texans of his vintage tend to be more clued in about how real Americans think,” she said, adding that this perspective is what new CBS News President Bari Weiss is attempting to bring back to the network.

The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between conservative media figures and legacy networks like CBS, which has faced criticism over perceived liberal bias. Ingraham’s comments, shared via her X account @IngrahamAngle, highlight her long-standing skepticism toward mainstream media insiders.

Pelley, a longtime CBS journalist who has anchored the CBS Evening News and served in prominent reporting roles, has not publicly responded to Ingraham’s remarks as of Monday. Ingraham’s brief tenure at CBS occurred early in her career before she rose to prominence as a conservative commentator and Fox News prime-time host.
