Fox News host Greg Gutfeld blasted the mainstream liberal media on his November 23, 2025 show, declaring them “the most discredited industry in history” and comparing them to Big Tobacco.“They truly may be the most discredited industry in history,” Gutfeld said on Gutfeld!.
“They make the tobacco industry look like the Red Cross. They’re corrupt, lying and ultimately harmful for your health – but only if you keep buying what they’re selling.”

The scathing monologue quickly went viral on X, racking up tens of thousands of views and thousands of reposts within hours, with supporters calling it “spot-on” and critics dismissing it as Fox News propaganda.
Gutfeld, a longtime media critic and host of cable’s top-rated late-night program and cohost of The Five on Fox News, used the tobacco analogy to accuse legacy outlets of knowingly peddling deceptive narratives for profit and ideological gain, much like cigarette companies once denied smoking’s link to cancer.
The rant comes amid record-low public trust in media (31% per recent Gallup polling) and fits Gutfeld’s recurring theme of exposing what he calls systemic bias in CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, and other establishment newsrooms.
