Diddy Trial: Verdicts Reached On Some Charges

The jury in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial in Manhattan has reached a partial verdict after two days of deliberations, totaling approximately 12 to 13 hours.

The jury announced verdicts on counts 2, 3, 4, and 5, which include two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution involving two victims, Cassie Ventura and a woman identified as "Jane."

However, they reported being deadlocked on count 1, the racketeering conspiracy charge, due to "unpersuadable opinions" among jurors. Judge Arun Subramanian, after conferring with both prosecution and defense, decided not to accept the partial verdict and instructed the jury to continue deliberating on the racketeering charge.

The jury sent a note indicating they had completed deliberations for the day and would resume on Wednesday, July 2, at 9 a.m. ET.

Throughout the deliberations, the jury sent six notes to the court, including requests for transcripts of testimony from Cassie Ventura and a male escort, Daniel Phillip, focusing on specific incidents of alleged violence and "freak-off" encounters. Earlier concerns about a juror (Juror 25) potentially not following instructions were addressed by the judge with reminders to adhere to legal instructions, but no jurors were replaced.

Both sides agreed to push for continued deliberations rather than accept a partial verdict, with discussions about whether to issue an Allen charge to encourage a unanimous decision. Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, faces up to life in prison if convicted on the racketeering or sex trafficking counts.

The trial, which began on May 12, 2025, has included testimony from 34 witnesses over seven weeks, with the defense resting without calling any witnesses.
