The Josh Innes Show is set to return to iHeartMedia’s Classic Rock 106.7 WLLZ, branded as “Detroit’s Wheels,” to host the morning show starting Monday, July 28, 2025.
This marks a homecoming for Josh Innes, who previously hosted mornings on WLLZ from April 2021 to February 2023, bringing his high-energy, talk-heavy style back to Detroit’s classic rock audience.
The return was announced Wednesday, with Innes debuting in the 6-10 a.m. slot on July 28. He briefly returned to WLLZ airwaves Tuesday, to anchor a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, signaling his re-engagement with the station.
Show Format: The Josh Innes Show blends classic rock with sports commentary, local news, and engaging banter, appealing to a rock and sports enthusiast audience. Innes is known for his provocative, conversational style, which he developed in sports radio before transitioning to classic rock. The show is expected to be a “content-driven morning show” that fits the classic rock lifestyle, focusing on Detroit’s music and cultural scene.
Replacement: Innes replaces Spencer Graves, who has been hosting mornings on WLLZ since May 2023, while also anchoring mornings at iHeartMedia’s Country “102.5 The Bull” WDXB in Birmingham. Graves took over after Innes’ departure in February 2023
Innes began his career in sports radio, hosting at stations like KILT, KBME, and KFNC in Houston, and WIP in Philadelphia, where he gained a reputation for building loyal audiences with his outspoken style. He transitioned to classic rock in March 2021, joining iHeartMedia’s “105.9 The Rock” WNRQ in Nashville, where his morning show was syndicated to WLLZ Detroit (starting April 2022) and WEGR Memphis (starting September 2022).
