FNC's Jacqui Heinrich, Elected to WCHA Board

Jacqui Heinrich, Fox News

Jacqui Heinrich, a Senior White House Correspondent for Fox News, has been elected to an At-Large seat on the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) Board for a term spanning July 15, 2025, to July 14, 2028.

She is set to serve as the WHCA president in the third year of her term, from July 15, 2027, to July 14, 2028.

The WHCA is an organization of journalists who cover the White House, responsible for managing press access and advocating for transparency. Heinrich, a three-time Emmy-winning reporter, expressed her honor at earning the trust of the White House press corps to lead the WHCA into its next chapter, particularly as president heading into the 2028 election. Her election has been recognized as a significant achievement, with sentiments on X highlighting her deserving this role due to her journalistic work.

The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) Board is responsible for managing the organization’s mission to ensure robust press access to the White House and advocate for journalists covering the presidency.

Key responsibilities include:

Press access Management: Overseeing press credentials, workspace allocation in the White House briefing room, and pool arrangements for covering presidential events, ensuring fair access for diverse media outlets.

Advocacy for Transparency: Representing journalists in negotiations with the White House to maintain open communication, protect press freedoms, and push for regular briefings and access to the president.

Event Organization: Planning the annual WHCA Dinner, a high-profile event that raises funds for journalism scholarships and promotes the association’s mission.

Policy and Governance: Setting WHCA policies, managing membership, and addressing issues like press room logistics or disputes over access. At-Large members contribute to these decisions and represent the broader membership’s interests.

Presidential Role (2027-2028 for Heinrich): As president in her third year, Heinrich will lead the board, act as the primary liaison with the White House, set the strategic agenda, and represent the WHCA publicly, especially critical during the 2028 election cycle.

These roles involve balancing logistical coordination with advocacy to uphold the press’s role in government accountability.
