Bonneville News/Talk 1160 KSL/102.7 KSL-FM in Salt Lake City has launched Midday with Maria Shilaos, a new weekday program airing from 12 to 3 p.m.
Hosted by veteran journalist Maria Shilaos, the show expands on KSL’s Utah’s Noon News, focusing on in-depth coverage of daily news stories while emphasizing their impact on listeners’ lives. The program aims to blend thought-provoking reporting with heartwarming stories to provide a balanced and engaging experience.
Shilaos, who has been with KSL since 1991, brings extensive experience from anchoring Utah’s Afternoon News until 2016 and hosting Utah’s Noon News and The KSL Greenhouse Show. She has earned multiple Utah Broadcasters Association and Society of Professional Journalists awards, as well as regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including one in 2017 for Best Newscast.
The show replaces Inside Sources, previously hosted by Boyd Matheson, and is designed to connect with audiences through relatable storytelling. Executive Producer Andy Cupp praised Shilaos’ trusted reputation, noting her ability to resonate with Utah listeners.
