He began gaining recognition in the late 1980s as the morning host on WKRR (Rock 92) in Greensboro, where his provocative and humorous style made him both loved and controversial. He later transitioned to talk radio, co-hosting “Spires & Krantz” and the highly popular “Brad & Britt Show” with Britt Whitmire on WBT in Charlotte and WZTK FM Talk 101.1 in Burlington during the early 2000s.

The duo’s chemistry, blending political insight with humor, earned them a loyal following and recognition, including being named to Talkers Magazine’s 100 Most Important Talk Show Hosts in America in 2002 and 2003. After leaving WBT in 2014, Krantz and Whitmire launched “The BradandBrittcast,” a podcast that allowed them to connect directly with fans, continuing until his passing.
