Longtime Pittsburgh radio personality and sports journalist Ron Cook announced his retirement Monday on KDKA 93.7 FM The Fan.
Cook has been with the sports talk radio station since its inception in 2010. “It’s been a blast with you guys,” Cook said on the air. He added that while he wants to retire, "it rips my heart out."
As a writer,Cook started at the Beaver County Times, then went to the Pittsburgh Press and currently writes for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His first column appeared in 1990; his last will appear in the Post-Gazette on Sunday.
