Early numbers show Fox drawing 37.5 million viewers for the 49ers’ fourth-quarter comeback win against the Packers on Saturday night, which would mark the best Saturday NFL Divisional Round game audience on record.
Front Office Sports reports the previous record was the same matchup two years ago, when Fox drew 36.9 million in the same window. Before that game, it was 35.6 million for 49ers-Saints in 2012. This year’s 49ers-Packers game will mark the best Saturday telecast of any kind since the 1994 Lillehammer Games on CBS, when 40.8 million viewers tuned in to see the women's figure skating final that was fueled by the Nancy Kerrigan-Tonya Harding drama.
49ers-Packers is up 31% from 28.6 million for Eagles-Giants in the same Saturday primetime window on Fox last season. The game this year peaked at 40.9 million viewers in the 11pm ET quarter hour. This also will mark Fox’s best Saturday telecast in the network’s history.
