Katherine Williams-Dunning was driving a 2007 Chevy Tahoe south along Highway 79 near Antioch Road when the SUV crossed the median and rolled over around 7:45 p.m., according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The vehicle, which was towing a boat, crossed the northbound lanes and came to a stop on the shoulder.
Her 29-year-old husband, Tyler Dunning, was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Williams-Dunning lived with her husband and their two children near Kentucky Lake, about 100 miles west of Nashville. On Instagram, she called herself a "woman of purpose spreading peace and kindness."
She ran the clothing company Weston Jane, which sold her own designs and items handmade or printed by another mom. "Our business is all about moms supporting moms and women supporting women," she wrote on the company's about us page.
"This news is just heartbreaking," country music star Travis Tritt said on Twitter. "My family and I knew Katie ever since she was a kid.
"I cannot even imagine what Hank, Mary Jane and the rest of the Williams family are going through right now. Please say a prayer for all of them and share your love any way you can."
