Elle magazine “Ask E. Jean” advice columnist E. Jean Carroll filed the suit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, because Trump claimed he’d never met her after she published her new book “What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal,” which claimed that Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman changing room around 1995.
After a preview of her book came out in June with the allegations, Trump said in a statement “I’ve never met this person in my life.”
Carroll who was 52-years-old at the time, says that as she was leaving the Fifth Avenue department store when she passed Trump on his way in and he said “Hey, you’re that advice lady!” according to court papers.
“Carroll, struck by his boyish good looks, responded by saying, “Hey, you’re that real estate tycoon!” the lawsuit continues.
The pair flirted and Trump asked her to help him pick out a gift for a woman, eventually saying he wanted to get her lingerie, court documents say. Trump saw a see-through bodysuit on a counter which they each joked the other should try on — before he whisked Carroll to a deserted changing room, the suit claims.
