The CBS News Radio Network is launching CBS Connect, a new offering created to provide timely news, entertainment and information specifically designed for discerning FM music radio listeners.
CBS Connect this week premiered THE CONNECTED MINUTE, an hourly update that engages and entertains FM music radio listeners with the latest information, pop culture topics and lifestyle trends.
CBS Connect is designed to stand out in an already cluttered, fast-paced information world and give FM station operators programming content that will appeal to their audiences and bring new listeners into the fold. In addition to THE CONNECTED MINUTE, CBS Connect affiliates will also receive short-form features on entertainment, health and lifestyle with CBS EYE OPENER, CBS REWIND, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT MINUTE, INSIDE EDITION: INSIDE REPORT, THE DOCTORS’ ORDERS, RACH ON THE RADIO, and ASK DR. PHIL.
CBS Connect will also produce a morning show prep service loaded with relatable, conversational material that includes actualities, daily audio features, written stories and digital content.
“CBS Connect is the latest addition to our suite of offerings for radio stations,” said Craig Swagler, General Manager of CBS News Radio. “The launch of CBS Connect demonstrates our commitment to providing our broadcast partners with the tools, services, and content they need to win in our hyper-competitive media environment.”
THE CONNECTED MINUTE is anchored by Jennifer Brown, an experienced anchor, reporter and DJ who has been with CBS since 2005. She began her career at WBBM-AM in Chicago. She’s also worked at WKPO-FM in Janesville, Wisc., and WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee.
