Hannity vs. Kimmel: TV Feud Getting Nastier

Fox News’ Sean Hannity continued his attack on late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Friday, devoting his prime time segment to “how out of touch with reality” he believes Hollywood’s “liberal elites” are.

And ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host was his main punching bag, reports The LATimes.

“I am going after Jimmy Kimmel. Tonight, we're going to pound him with his own words,” Hannity proclaimed.

The two have been trading barbs all week over a joke Kimmel made about Melania Trump’s accent and the feud quickly devolved into personal snipes. Hannity said that he’s “not in the business of silencing Kimmel” and doesn’t want his late-night show boycotted. He apparently just wanted Kimmel to apologize to the first lady.

“This is not something I prefer to do on the show,” Hannity continued. “I don't take joy in this, but I have just had it with the utter hypocrisy. The unrelenting attacks against not only a sitting president but his wife and his daughter and his 11-year-old son, the first lady of the United States, really? This never ends. It needs to end.”

Hannity opened his Friday show by calling Kimmel a “self-righteous, sanctimonious social-justice warrior” and threw  down the gauntlet in an attempt to expose Kimmel’s “perverted, misogynistic and even racist past” and used clips from Kimmel’s early days on “The Man Show” to do it.

On Twitter, Kimmel took the bait and thanked Hannity for the “trip down ‘Man Show’ memory lane” and defended the antics of the series by saying “every woman involved willingly participated — it’s called a comedy bit. It’s what you’ve been unwittingly doing for years.”

Both TV personalities’ Twitter feeds ramped up the feud on Friday, and Kimmel delighted in Hannity’s artillery, quipping, “I’m starting to think SOMEONE has a crush on me!”
