Cumulus Media announces that its Knoxville, TN, Country radio station, 107.7 WIVK, raised a total of $815,000 on Monday, December 5, in the 18-hour on-air and online #SmokyMtnStrong Radiothon benefiting victims of the Gatlinburg wildfires.

$315,000 was raised through call-in donations by the station’s listeners, while $500,000 in donations were made online to the My People Fund, in partnership with the Dollywood Foundation. All funds raised will stay in the East Tennessee areas affected by the fires.

Nashville’s Country music community supported the WIVK Radiothon by calling into the station throughout the day and late into the evening on Monday.

WIVK aired calls from dozens of Country artists including Old Dominion, Justin Moore, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert and Zac Brown. Artists including Trent Harmon and Jake Owen also talked up the WIVK Radiothon and Dollywood Foundation online via social media, which drove additional donations.

Nikki Thomas, WIVK Program Director said: “I am so proud of our dedicated staff at WIVK and Cumulus Media-Knoxville, the volunteers, Local 8 News, Tennessee State Bank, the Dollywood Foundation and every single person that donated their time, effort and energy to this fundraising effort. Considering the extremely fast turnaround time for raising this incredible amount, the final result is testimony to the professionalism and expertise in this building. I couldn’t be more proud of Cumulus Media-Knoxville and our partners in Nashville.”
