Galaxy Communications President and CEO Ed Levine is purchasing six radio stations in the Berkshires area of western Massachusets.
The Central New York-based company signed a definitive agreement to buy Top40 WBEC 95.9 FM, N/T WBEC 1420 AM, Classic Hits WUPE 100.3 FM / 1110 AM, N/T WSBS 860 AM/94.1 FM and AC WNAW 1230 AM.
“These six radio stations do a tremendous job of serving their communities with great local radio,” Levine said in a news release. “They have thrived under the ownership of Gamma Broadcasting, which has done a wonderful job. I look forward to working with Market Manager Peter Barry and the entire staff of radio professionals.”
Gamma Broadcasting President and CEO Bruce Danziger said, “We feel confident placing our terrific stations and people in Ed Levine’s capable hands. This is a special group, led by Peter, and we know Ed’s oversight will continue to bring good results for our people and the community.”
