Cumulus Media/Lake Charles has announced that
KBIU 103.3 FM debuted a new Rhythmic Top 40 radio station, “The Hottest Music” HOT 103.3, on New Year’s Day.
The station, formerly formatted as an Adult Contemporary station, has been airing Christmas music since Thanksgiving.
Val Garris, Vice President, Programming for Cumulus Media said: “Our goal is to have a local connection with the community and give the listeners what they have been asking for by playing the hits from Drake, Weeknd, Pitbull and Chris Brown. Brandin Shaw will lead the programming efforts in Lake Charles, working with Corporate PD, Davey Morris, and our amazing local staff.”

Elizabeth Blackstock, Vice President and Market Manager for Cumulus Lake Charles said: “We are so excited to kick off a great new year with the HOT 103.3 launch. In just a short time, listeners and clients have responded to the station in a very big way. Lake Charles was missing a Rhythmic Top 40 station and we are thrilled to bring this great energy and music to listeners and to deliver this 18-34 audience to our advertisers. Cumulus Lake Charles has a strong six-station cluster and this was a natural fit for the community and the perfect complement to our station group.”
