Party Affiliation Marked by Deep Demographic Divides


A new analysis of long-term trends in political party affiliation finds wide differences by race, gender, generation and education. According to a Pew Research study, Democrats hold advantages among blacks, Asians, Hispanics, well-educated adults and Millennials, while Republicans have leads among whites, those with less education, evangelical Protestants and the Silent generation.
