The Philadelphia Phillies and CBS Radio have agreed to a one-year extension on a contract to air their games on Talk Radio WPHT 1210 AM and Sports WIP 94.1 FM.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The current three-year contract with CBS was set to expire at the end of this season.
The contract will continue to include live play-by-play coverage of Phillies pre-season, regular season and post-season games.
“While we can’t provide specifics, I am pleased to report that we have agreed to an extension of our partnership with the Phillies,” CBS Radio Philadelphia Senior Vice President and Marketing Manager Marc Rayfield said in a statement.
Dave Buck, senior vice president of marketing and advertising for the Phillies, said the two sides agreed on a one-year deal because time was running out on the current deal and it will give them more time to negotiate a longterm extension, hopefully well before the 2015 season ends, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
