Dodgers Fans Can View Last Games On Indy Station

Good news, for Dodger fans: Time Warner Cable has struck a deal with local indie station KDOC to broadcast the final six regular-season games as the team closes in on the National League West Division championship, according to deadline.com.

About 70% of LA market has not been able to watch Dodger games this season — the outfall of an $8B long-term deal the Dodgers struck last year with Time Warner Sports to distribute SportsNet LA. Talks with other distributors went nowhere, and the channel still can’t be seen by customers of DirecTV, Dish Network, Charter Communications, Verizon FiOs and AT&T U-Verse.

“I’m pleased that now all Dodger fans will be able to join the excitement of watching the final regular season games in advance of the playoff race,” FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said Monday afternoon about Time Warner Cable’s agreement wtih KDOC to broadcast Dodger games.

“The leadership of Representative Cárdenas and Mayor Garcetti kept this issue in the forefront and the FCC will continue to go to bat for consumers in resolving programming disputes. We hope that long-term agreements will be the next step and can be achieved quickly without depriving fans of any regular season games next year.”
