CCM+E Management at Detroit hip hop/R&B station FM 98 WJLB 94.9 FM apparently were keeping quiet Monday about reports the station has fired popular morning hosts Coco and Foolish.
Both hosts, according to the Michigan Chronicle, were fired by the station because it decided to take the morning show "in a different direction." The Chronicle's website cites a WJBK-TV FOX 2 report and quotes an unnamed WJLB rep.
A phone message left Monday afternoon by MLive for WJLB programming director KJ Holiday wasn't immediately returned. The station hasn't appeared to release a public statement on the matter.
WJLB's website, as of 2 p.m. Monday, no longer listed Coco and Foolish as on-air talent. The midnight to 6 a.m. and 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. time slots didn't have any on-air talent listed next to them.
Fans of Coco and Foolish clearly aren't pleased with WJLB's silence on the matter and have taken to Facebook and Twitter to share their anger over the reports.
Nobody running the station's Facebook page has appeared to response to a slew of questions from fans about the status of Coco and Foolish.
Mr. Chase, according to the Michigan Chronicle and FOX 2, will stay employed at WJLB and remain part of its on-air lineup.

I think it's a good move. It's time for Detroit to go another direction, although I like the former hosts, we need something more then just hip hop news, word of the day, and horoscopes from a silly commentator, we need substance along with good, wholesome personalities. Detroit is headed in a new direction, the world is watching and we have to grow as a whole in how we think and act as a community.
