NextMedia bulding that houses Hot AC WXLC 102.3 FM and WKRS ESPN Deportes 1220
AM in Waukegan, IL, just north of Chicago, was surrounded by a waist-deep ‘lake’.
GM Karl Wertzler reports, "Throughout the mess, many of
the staff members stayed in the building to lend a hand with bailing and
sandbagging and the efforts paid off. WXLC remained on the air while Deportes
was down for only a brief period of time."
Fortunately, only WKRS was off-air of a short-time.
