Atlanta radio was a joke to begin, and now the actual (though repetitive) comedy station has been replaced? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeletegive thanks for WRFG & WMLB.
I agree. BOOOOOO! My family LOVED Comedy 92.3 - it was one of (if not the only)radio station worth listening to in Atlanta. I think it's time to remove my radio from the dash and turn it into a coaster now. That's about all it's worth. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat boneheads. That was the best radio I've heard from that end of the dial in a long time. Oh well, it's back to AM1690, the Voice of the Arts!
ReplyDeleteI sadly learned of this transition this morning on my way into work... I actually listened to ESPN en Espanol for a few minutes thinking it was joke... Like, maybe they're doing some Mexican comedy...
ReplyDeleteJoshua, I did the same thing!! I kept waiting for the punchline. I guess we were the punchline. Sad to see it go. There are already several Hispanic stations all over the airwaves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. this is the only reason I ever turned on my radio. Looks like its back to pandora. They almost saved public radio.
ReplyDeleteSO UPSET by this! :( The station was so unique and clean (edited) and actually worth listening to. I hit the programmed button for it and heard two guys in Spanish arguing about a sports play, and I was devastated. At least move it to another wavelength, please!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shock - looked forward to 92.3 - Hispanic ESPN - that's the real joke on us and the stupid decision they made. Why didn't they do a little focu group checking before making the decision - oh, maybe that was too obvious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shock and a shame! It was a refreshing break from all of the other BS Atlanta stations. More hispanic sports? Wasn't ruining one of the finest stations in the South enough? That was WGST- W- Georgia School of Technology...GA Tech radio. Anything for a buck I guess. The majority of Atlanta radio stations are a smelly landfill of copycat syndication talk radio shows anyway. Anybody remember WPCH? WREC? WOMN? WGST? ...& the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big talk radio & PBS Fan, one day I was flipping the stations & found the comedy. I was hooked, I Love laughing & driving. I miss it! Come back!
ReplyDeleteLouis in Decatur
The only decent good channel in ATL and they cancel it. Me, my kids, my friends just found out about it and were all talking about how great it was. AS usual the idiot ATL radio companies YES YOU cancel a good thing. The music in this town sux, the programming sux, everything about radio in this town sux. I left town for 5 years a while back lived in 4 different major cities, the stations BLOW AWAY ATL and when I came back? Nothing had changed..the same old shat! I hate the radio stations in this top ten metro market in the USA. If I had the money I would buy them up and FIRE EVERYONE!!!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!
ReplyDeleteRight on!!! This station should be brought back by popular demand - I mean enough people are pissed off about it. I call for a PETITION!!!
