Sroka was a cornerstone of Erie’s radio scene, known for his energetic delivery, quirky humor, and deep musical knowledge. His death has left a void in the community, with fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a figure who defined local broadcasting for generations.

Sroka was best known for his long tenure at Rocket 101/105, where he hosted the morning show, blending rock music with his signature humor. His time at Rocket105 cemented his status as a local icon, connecting with listeners through his relatable style and community engagement.

Earlier in his career, Sroka worked at JET-FM where he honed his skills as a versatile broadcaster capable of appealing to diverse audiences. He also hosted at Country 98, showcasing his adaptability by transitioning to country music and earning fans in Erie’s country radio market.

Sroka thrived in the high-energy, listener-driven format, using his “goofy sense of humor” to start listeners’ days with laughter. His encyclopedic knowledge of music—spanning rock, pop, and country—allowed him to curate playlists and share anecdotes that resonated with fans, much like Angela Bellios’s memorable “80’s at Eight” segments.

Sroka was let go from Rocket105 as part of a nationwide wave of layoffs by iHeartMedia, the station’s parent company.
