Brooke Ryan has been named Program Director (PD) of Mix 95.9 (WMXZ), a Hot Adult Contemporary radio station in Charleston, South Carolina.
The promotion marks a significant milestone in Ryan’s career. Ryan’s promotion to PD follows the sudden passing of Mike Edwards, the station’s previous PD and Two Girls and a Guy co-host, in December 2024. Edwards had been instrumental in shaping Mix 95.9’s sound since 1994, and Ryan’s appointment reflects her deep experience with the station and its audience.
Originally from Bakersfield, California, Ryan has worked in radio markets including Knoxville, Tennessee, Washington, DC, and Charleston. She first joined Charleston’s radio scene at WSSX (95SX), where she became a key part of the Two Girls and a Guy morning show. After a stint in DC at WRQX from 2010 to 2014, she returned to Charleston in 2014 to reunite with co-hosts Mike Edwards and Tanya Brown on Mix 95.9.Ryan co-hosts Two Girls and a Guy weekday mornings from 5 AM to 10 AM and hosts a midday shift from 10 AM to 2 PM, as well as Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Her engaging personality and chemistry with co-hosts have earned her accolades, including a 2023 Charleston’s Choice finalist for Local Radio Personality and a 2009 Best of Charleston award.
Mix 95.9, owned by Saga Communications, is Charleston’s “Adult Hit Music Station,” featuring contemporary hits and shows like American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest. It operates under Charleston Radio Group, alongside stations like 101.7 Chuck FM and 99.3 The Box.
