Jimmy Buffet Hits A Billboard Chart High

Jimmy Buffett may be gone, but his music lives on. Now, as one of his current singles continues to climb, the late singer-songwriter has hit a high on a Billboard chart he hasn't seen in decades.

This week, Buffett's single "Bubbles Up" climbs to No. 17 on the Adult Contemporary chart, according to Forbes.

"Bubbles Up" now marks Buffett's highest-charting hit on the Adult Contemporary chart in more than 45 years. The last time he rose higher was back in 1977. That year ended up being one of the biggest for the rising star, as it produced two of his most beloved smashes.

Buffett's most recent single that rose higher than No. 17 on the Adult Contemporary chart was "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitude." That tune lifted all the way to No. 11 toward the end of 1977. Just a few months prior, the musician earned what would be his first and only No. 1 on the radio tally with "Margaritaville."

"Bubbles Up" serves as the lead single from Buffett's forthcoming album Equal Strain on All Parts. The set was finished before his passing in early September, and will mark his first posthumous release. The full-length is headed for a sizable debut on the Billboard 200, perhaps even No. 1.
