HBO/HBO Max topped all networks and streamers, taking the most awards during “74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” with 38 wins -- double its number of awards a year ago, reports MediaPost.
Its “The White Lotus” grabbed the most awards for an individual show-- 10, including best limited series. Another HBO show, “Succession” got 7 awards, including best drama; “Euphoria” took home six statuettes.
Netflix was second at 26 Emmys -- “Squid Game” had six; “Stranger Things”, five; “Arcane” with four; and “Love on the Spectrum” grabbing three. Netflix had 44 awards a year ago.
Walt Disney’s streaming platforms --- Hulu and Disney+ -- won 19 Emmy hardware, 10 and nine Emmys, respectively. Apple TV+ won nine overall, including four awards for “Ted Lasso”, which won for bests comedy.
Walt Disney won 26 Emmys. ABC Television Network’s “Abbott Elementary” won three Emmys.
Top Emmy winners for a broadcast network were NBC with 6, CBS with 5, and ABC with 3. Among the cable networks, FX had 3 and VH1 had 2, while CNN, National Geographic, Sundance TV, and TBS each had one.
