Wake-Up Call: Drone Strikes Takes Out top Al-Qaida Leader

The leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist group has been killed by a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan. The death of Ayman al-Zawahiri is said to be the biggest strike against the terrorist group since the death of his predecessor, Osama bin Laden, in 2011. The mission was reportedly carried out by the CIA, but agency officials declined to comment on the matter.

“He carved a trail of murder and violence against American citizens, American service members, American diplomats, and American interests," President Joe Biden said in brief remarks from the White House. "Now, justice has been delivered. And this terrorist leader is no more."
