Lance Holmes |
In a press release issued on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office in New York state said Lance Holmes, 40, of Queens was indicted by a local grand jury on drug possession and conspiracy charges related to the scheme.
According to the indictment, Holmes worked with a mail carrier employed by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to sell fentanyl along the mail carrier’s route. Holmes purportedly received drug shipments from California to various addresses in the New York metropolitan area; at one point, he called the Postal Service after a shipment intended for one of the locations was intercepted by authorities, charging documents said.
Holmes, who was known on-air by his stage name DJ Love Dinero, worked as a rap and R&B DJ for the SiriusXM satellite radio channel Shade 45, according to information reviewed by The Desk. It was not clear if the satellite radio service had placed him on leave. His next show was tentatively scheduled for Saturday.
The DJ was arraigned earlier this week and entered a not guilty plea. His bail was set at $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash. His next court hearing is scheduled for August 18.
