After more than a quarter-century running a Greater Cincinnati investment advisory firm and hosting a financial radio show, Nathan Bachrach is stepping down from both, reports The Cincinnati Business Journal.
Bachrach is leaving his role as executive vice president at Allworth Financial, where he has been the top local official since Allworth bought his Simply Money investment firm in 2018. But Bachrach had run Simply Money with co-founder Ed Finke since they launched the firm in 1993. And he had been in the investment business in Cincinnati since the 1980s.

Bachrach is also leaving Simply Money’s hourlong radio show that airs weeknights on WKRC-AM (550) at 6 p.m. He has hosted the show for 28 years, most of that time with Finke helping him.
This reporter has been a guest dozens of times on the show over the years, dating back to its days in the 1990s when it aired weekly on WVXU-FM (91.7). It moved to WNKU-FM in 2005 when WVXU was sold and became part of Cincinnati Public Radio, dropping numerous local shows in the process. In 2008 it moved to WKRC when the station’s program director asked Bachrach and Finke if they wanted to expand from doing a one-minute bit on the station’s morning show to hosting an hourlong show at 6 p.m.
“The discipline of doing a daily radio show for 28 years, you don’t get to take vacations,” Bachrach said. “I’m still healthy and I want to enjoy life.”
His last show will be Feb. 23, exactly 28 years after he and Finke hosted their first show in 1993.
The show will continue as Simply Money, with Allworth Financial’s Steve Sprovach co-hosting it with the firm’s Amy Wagner, who has co-hosted with Bachrach for the last few years.
