Cheryl Harle |
She was 75, according to the Newport News-Times.
Harle was the owner of two radio stations based in Newport — KCUP 1230 AM and KPPT 100.7 FM. The FM station became known as Boss FM, and Harle proudly accepted the title of “The Boss of the Boss.”
Harle was born in Southern California on April 6, 1944. She moved to McMinnville in the late 1950s and graduated from McMinnville High School. She married Jim McAnally and settled in Pendleton, having three boys, Greg, Paul and Andy.
A strong and independent woman, Harle worked as a nurse and later at a medical office in Pendleton. She later made a career change and became the sales manager at KTIX radio station in Pendleton. In the following years, she was remarried to Andy Harle, and together they purchased and operated a number of stations in Pendleton and Newport. After Andy died in 2003, she continued operating the two stations in Newport.
