iHeartMedia CHR KBKS 106.1 Kiss-FM in Tacoma/Seattle is under officially 'under construction". The station apparently will remain CHR. The move comes following several days of stunting while airing references suggesting a change in formats.
Longtime morning host Bender Cunningham announced his departure form the station on Monday and Kiss-FM is now conducting a search for new morning talent, including offering a $10,000 reward to the listener who suggests the eventual personality. The station intends to hold on-air auditions for the position in January 2019.
iHeartMedia Pacific Northwest Region President Robert Dove stated Kiss-FM wold become a “much better station...that is real, connected to the community, positive, and proud to live in Seattle”.
KBKS dropped from a 3.2 to a 2.2 share (6+) in the October Nielsen ratings released this week.
Hubbard’s crosstown CHR KQMV Movin' 92.5 FM with the Brooke & Jubal morning show rose 5.8 to 6.8.
